OUR STANDARD
IS CHRIST.
Welcome to Belhaven University, a place where top-rated faculty and a nurturing environment converge to bring you to your best ... and then propel you beyond what you think is achievable.
Nationally recognized academics. Vibrant campus life. Christ-centered Worldview Curriculum seamlessly intertwines history, literature, art, music, and philosophy into a chronological core curriculum for all incoming freshmen and sophomores.
Belhaven University has received national recognition for its academic programs and affordability, and the College has earned regional Accreditation by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS). Furthermore, Belhaven is one of just 30 schools in the U.S. to be nationally accredited in all four of the arts: dance, music, theatre, and visual art.
ACADEMIC QUALITY
At the center of Belhaven’s liberal arts emphasis is the innovative Worldview Curriculum, which presents history, philosophy, literature, and art as one set of interconnected disciplines.
Through this bold approach to education, students discover the contexts of the Christian worldview and how it relates to other systems of thought throughout history. With it comes the challenge to students to recognize their own worldview and to weigh it against the Christian worldview.
Christian colleges and universities come in all shapes and sizes, but Belhaven College, now Belhaven University, is one of a kind. Each of our Christ-honoring faculty, coaches, and staff is committed to helping you capture God’s vision for your life and to preparing you to excel in your career, relationships, home, and the world of ideas.

ALUMNI HIGHLIGHTS
Maxie Gordon, M.D. (83)
Director, Adult In-Patient Unit for Psychiatry and Human Behavior
Director, School of Education, UMC
The main reason I attended Belhaven was because Belhaven had and continues to have an excellent reputation for academics. I felt a Christian perspective would make me more well-rounded. I wanted someone to help me live up to my commitment to Christ.
Grant Callen, Young Alumnus of the Year 2009
Grant Callen 05 doesnt leave his faith at the door when he goes to work at the Mississippi Center for Public Policy. As Director of Development, he has the opportunity to impact society every day. He says he appreciates that Belhaven is committed to equipping students with the knowledge, tools, and experience to impact the secular culture for Christ. My Christian worldview colors everything I do. I think my life calling is to work in the political realm in Mississippi to create a more just society. My biblical worldview not only impacts the way I conduct my career but why I chose this field in the first place.
Andrew Camenisch ’98
Known for his work as lead sculptor for the Lord of the Rings trilogy, Andrew has taken his educational foundation and exemplified Belhaven’s ability to produce students who are passionate about excelling in their calling and in their field of work.
Chaplain (LTC) James R. Carter (`83) is serving as a senior command chaplain in Baghdad, Iraq.
Im grateful for the foundation that was laid during my four years at Belhaven. I can see how God has used my time there in such a profound way that it has set the trajectory of my world and life view. Belhaven certainly has given me the right tools for handling many of lifes challenges, to include the challenges that I face in combat.

As the City of Jacksons Homeless Program Coordinator, Heather has the monumental task of implementing the citys 10-year plan to end homelessness. As she looks at her path since college, Heather says, I love my work and I have my time at Belhaven to thank for nurturing that call.
United States Marshal
Nehemiah Flowers
"Several years ago, a friend challenged me to consider Belhaven for its worker-friendly atmosphere and faculty. Belhaven proved to be the right institution for me. While there, I met and socialized with students who actually lived their religion. I was provided the opportunity to mingle with Christians (my study group) who 'talked the talk and walked the walk.' My worldview regarding many issues on which this country finds itself deeply divided changed as a direct result of attending Belhaven."
